Currently the accommodation on the first and second floors is let as offices and workshops. On the first floor is our office and Powys Environmental and Development Education Centre (PEDEC); on the second floor The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) have their UK HQ office, Peter Croll makes violins, violas and maybe a cello, and Calma, the Llanidloes Holistic Centre, have their treatment room.

On the ground floor is Great Oak Café and Great Oak Foods, alias ‘The Veg Shop’ with access to the upper floors, the ‘Yard’ and the Garden via the alleyway to the side of the Veg. Shop.

The wildlife-friendly garden at the rear of the neighbouring Resource Centre was designed by Emma Maxwell, and created by her and a team of volunteers on behalf of Compton's Yard Trust and the Resource Centre. In its first year, 2007, the garden received a Green Pennant Award, and achieved the same award again in 2008 and 2009. Many of the plants were donated by local people, and others were obtained at a special rate from The Dingle Nursery near Welshpool. The garden is mostly maintained by John Waters of Llanidloes Resource Centre and Linda Hallett of Arcadia Antiques, to whom the trustees extend their thanks.
