Members, Trustees and Volunteers

The Trust welcomes new volunteers and trustees. If you have some spare time and / or ideas, please get in touch (see ‘Contact Us’).

Members

The Trust is basically dependent upon its Members, and new members are always needed and welcomed.

A small one-off fee of £1 gives access to all CYT facilities and mailing lists, together with the right to vote at General Meetings, thus giving the members ultimate control of the Trust.

Volunteers

Day-to-day running of the Trust is carried out by volunteers, of whom the Board of Trustees, elected by the members, forms part, with the essential help of a small number of part time staff.

Other volunteers are people who do not necessarily have the time or inclination to be a Trustee, but who want to support CYT by offering their time and/or skills when convenient and relevant.

Examples of volunteering :-

  • D.I.Y.
  • odd jobs
  • poster distribution
  • leafleting
  • filling and posting envelopes
  • loan of equipment or tools e.g. trailer, hammer, nail, piece of wood.
  • painting and decorating.
  • weeding
  • assisting artists at workshops

Trustees

Trustees are volunteers who are involved in :-

  • the general running of CYT
  • the maintenance of the building
  • letting of office and commercial space
  • decision making
  • arranging and instigating workshops, etc.
  • in fulfilment of the trusts aims and objectives, to :
    • attend committee meetings
    • organise General Meetings
    • be responsible to Companies House and The Charity Commissioners.
